Analysis of Opportunities in Computer Steganography in Covert Communication Channels into Digital Images, Circulating in Automated Control Systems and Access Control |

In order to improve information protection, circulating in automated control systems and access control, the choice of digital images as steganography containers is justifi ed. The comparative analysis of existing methods and techniques about digital images, presented such formats, as BMP, JPEG and JPEG 2000, is held in this article. The most promising of them are studied in detail. The advantages and disadvantages of different algorithms and the most promising steganography algorithms from the point of secretiveness, stability and the volume of embedded information are revealed. In order to choose the optimal stegocontainer, we suggest an approach, according to which a digital image segmenting is previously performed by a known algorithm. The authors of the article introduce the criterion of digital image texturing for evaluation of steganographic stability of digital images, having the same size.
