Shuvalova Organizing the structure of storing information and en suring prompt access to data is the most difficult issues faced by enterprises: from small private organizations to large state corporations. More recently, the average amount of data that various organizations work with has ranged from tens to hundreds of terabytes. However, today, many large organizations are working with petabytes of information, rapidly increasing its volume. For storage of information using different drives: from magnetic tapes and optical discs to high-speed fl ash memory. The important technical characteristics of the entire system depend on the type of drive. The type of drive depends on the equipment, which, in turn, depends on the tasks performed, such as operational storage, long-term storage, processing, etc. In this paper, we consider the main storage devices of information, their advantages and disadvantages affecting the structure of information storage.
