Building a Metamodel of an E-learning Information System Based on the Meta-Object Facility Standard |

The paper describes an application of a metamodeling concept for an e-learning information systems (IS) engineering based on the Meta-Object Facility (MOF) standard. The metamodel proposed by the authors will allow to implement engineering and reengineering of e-learning IS to improve the cognitive component of the educational process. A fl exible adaptation of the e-learning IS built under the presented metamodel is possible. A logical database model is constructed under the metamodel. The work was done under the concept of metamodeling and the procedure for building a model-Driven Architecture. The work is relevant in the fact that a proposed e-learning information system meta-model based on the MOF standard. The metamodel could be adapted to the needs and requirements of various educational institutions. The created metamodel will allow to reconstruct IS in accordance with the rules of aggregation and segmentation of teaching materials for students with different types of information perception.
