Design Approach for Robust Non-overshooting Controller for ACS with Parametric Uncertainty |

The paper considers the procedure for the formation of a method for the synthesis of a robust controller that provides a zero value of overshoot in the conditions of a spread of parameters of the control object with further practical testing in a laboratory setup for controlling hydrodynamic processes. On the basis of the expressions for the discriminant of the characteristic equation of the transfer function of the closed-loop system, analytical constraints are formulated on the range of values of the tuning coeffi cients of the controller, within which the necessary and sufficient conditions of zero overshoot are checked. The results obtained were extended to the class of systems with intervaldefined parameters, for which a rule was obtained for choosing special members of the interval family of transfer functions, which form constraints for the control system over the entire range of interval-defi ned parameters. The formed synthesis technique was tested on a physical installation for the study of control methods for hydrodynamic processes with interval-defined parameters obtained by the interval linearization procedure.
