Skvortsova This article offers a modern approach to data center design. The tasks and network architecture of the data center (data center) are shown. The topologies of two types of networks that exist in the data center: underlay and overlay are considered. SDN (Software Defi ned Networks) is a new network paradigm in which the architecture moves from the traditional distributed model to a more centralized approach. This approach is characterized by the separation of the data layer and the management layer. An analytical review of software solutions and data center design platforms based on SDN technology is conducted. It is important to choose a controller that provides a high level of abstraction for managing forwarding elements. The controller is a fundamental component of the SDN architecture.
