GURTOVTSEV The paper examines the execution of synchronous (coordinated) electrical energy and power measurements in digital energy monitoring and accounting systems. The evolution of electrical energy and power accounting is traced with reference to clock utilization in energy monitoring and accounting systems and the synchronization of energy measurement results. Signifcant difference between unit-counting and digital energy monitoring systems with reference to synchronous measurements is demonstrated. The concept of timing in technical systems is systematized, and the features of modern chips used in precision digital clocks are considered.
