Development of a Software Simulator for a Red Mud Thickener |

The purpose of this work is to create an adequate virtual mathematical model, which can be used as a platform for software simulator, and takes into account a number of features of the unit: flocculation process, shape of floccules, geometric features of the unit, the presence of solid particles in the thickener drain. In this work the step-by-step process of creation and the prospect of using the software non-linear dynamic model, implemented in the software products SCADA Cimplicity and Unity Pro XL, are considered in detail. Also the basic theoretical concepts underlying the mathematical model are disclosed. The developed software simulator is to be used for teaching the students of the specialty 2.3.3 "Automation of technological processes and industries" to form the skills in synthesizing a complex control system from the standpoint of automation unit, as well as skills to work with the software product Unity Pro XL.
