Industrial Automatic Control Systems and Controllers Annotation << Back Description of the Operation of Ring Furnaces for Heating Billets and Problems of Regulating the Gas-Air Ratio in These Installations Belikov K.A., Savchic A.V. The article is devoted to ring furnaces, which are used in the metallurgical industry. It describes the basic principles of operation of ring furnaces, a detailed technical description of the functioning of its automation and design, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using this equipment. The problems of regulating the gas-air ratio in ring furnaces and the consequences of its incorrect setting for the equipment are also considered. Next, a mathematical law was found for the process of heating billets in a ring furnace. Then, it was used to simulate the regulation of the heating process of billets in a ring furnace using the VisSim computer program. The article will be useful to industry specialists, students of relevant specialties and anyone interested in metallurgical production technologies and industrial automation technologies.
