Models and Algorithms for Adaptive Control
of the Continuous Steel Filling Process |

The purpose of this work is to modernize the software of the automated workplace of the steel casting operator by additional inclusion of mathematical models of the mold elements capable of working in real time. The algorithm of adaptive
control according to the criterion of maximum effi ciency of the crystallizer is proposed. This criterion is the ratio of the current performance of the mold measured at the control facility to the current performance of the mold calculated by the reference mathematical mode.. At the same time, the main control parameters remain the broaching speed and the position of the
bucket gate, and the metal level in the mold is selected as a criterion for robust stabilization of the mold performance. It is
proposed to determine the current coordinates of the working point of the mold by the current fl uctuations of the metal level
in the retort, fl uctuations in the fl ow of liquid metal into the retort and fl uctuations in the extraction rate of solid metal. The
operability and effectiveness of the proposed models and algorithms were tested by the method of simulation modeling in the
conditions closest to real ones.
