A Method for Adaptive Management of the Efficiency of the Functioning of Thermal Power Plant Power Units |

A model-free method of adaptive control of the effi ciency of the functioning of thermal power plant power units according to the criterion of the minimum cost of electricity produced is proposed. At the same time, the minimum cost of operation of the power unit is achieved
only when the current value of the effi ciency of the boiler unit is in the region of the positive partial derivative, and the current value of the
effi ciency of the turbine is in the region of the negative partial derivative, that is, in conditions when the minimum cost of operation of the
power unit coincides with the maximum effi ciency of the power unit. The algorithms for implementing the adaptive control method are based
on determining the position of the operating point of the control object by indirectly measuring partial derivatives of the control criterion.
Verifi cation of the operability and effectiveness of adaptive control methods for the power unit, boiler unit and turbine unit was carried out
by simulation modeling on a stand for software diagnostics of processor devices and systems. Analysis of the simulation results showed that
the proposed algorithms reliably refl ect the measurement and control processes of the boiler, turbine and power unit. At the same time, the
dominant component of the error in identifying partial derivatives is the error of dynamic linearization of the intercorrelation function and
the control criterion.
