The problem of network technologies application is examined with a case study of process data collection and processing. The files including process variables values, events and contingency data are created and transferred via Internet to vendor’s client support service. The paper shows that based on process information received from the web, the developer can make recommendations on process control, introduce new process-related and service functions and quickly default the plant.
