Industrial Automatic Control Systems and Controllers Annotation << Back The Measurement of the Relative Position and the Radius of the Cylindrical Part Features an Instrument for Measuring Heights Kasyanov S.V. Kondrashov A.G. Safarov D.T. The paper discusses a procedure for measuring relative position and radius of component part’s cylindrical elements with the help of a leveling meter. The procedure is intended for extending the capabilities of single-coordinate measuring instruments by applying special measuring equipment and mathematical tool. Coordinate systems are built on certain measuring modules to determine actual values of measurands. Instrument readings are sequentially recalculated form one coordinate system to another that results eventually in relative position and radius of component part’s cylindrical elements. The technology was implemented as a part of a measuring system in a small production company manufacturing brake pads. It allows to monitor key product characteristics and demonstrates measurement performance typical for a coordinate measuring machine.
