The Formation of Informative Characteristics of Human Gait by Results of Videomonitoring |

The intellectual video analysis and processing is one of the perspective and the most quickly developing directions of researches and engineering that applied in various areas of human activity. Earlier information received from video cameras, was used generally in video surveillance systems. However, further, application of methods of the analysis and processing allowed to use this information for the solution of the most various tasks. The concept of biometrics - the field of knowledge which is engaged in research of methods and means of people identification by means of special biometric characteristics, and such biometric characteristic as gait is considered in the article. Despite the identity of gait process for all people, its unisity consists in speed and size of steps, etc. The analysis of various methods for receiving necessary signs for recognition (model, model-free and spatiotemporal) showed that each of the listed approaches has advantages and disadvantages. The main disadvantages are computational complexity and lack of uniform approaches for building of aprioristic and working complex of informative signs, invariant to the body sizes.
The integrated approach if offered for the solution for a problem of obtaining necessary set of informative signs of gait of the person. The essence of this approach consists in building of a human body model, based on ellipses, with detecting of ellipses poles; trajectory tracking of poles motion in video sequence and estimation of trajectory functions. Formation of set of characteristics is carried out by means of spectral decomposition of the received functions.
