Estimation of Applicability of the 3d Game Engines for Use in Distant Learning Systems |

This article describes the general architecture and basic functions that must ensure the modern 3D game engine. Article highlights
the possibilities of the most popular game platforms which are suitable as a basis for development of distance learning systems, virtual laboratories and virtual industrial complexes: CryEngine, GameMaker: Studio, HeroEngine, NeoAxis 3D Engine, Source Engine, Unity 3D, Unreal Engine and 3D Rad were analyzed. The aim of the article is to defi ne the most suitable engine for the creation of virtual
laboratory or game virtual simulator of the based on the analysis of game engines.
This article will be useful primarily for software developers who wish to create high-quality distant learning systems using the most advanced technology in creation high-quality and realistic virtual world. That can be applied when designing a virtual laboratory or virtual simulators.
