Efremov The mining industry has managed to adapt to the completion of the super-cycle of commodities and the instability of the raw materials market. Nevertheless, even with increased concentration to reduce costs and increase the effi ciency of the technological process as a whole, the productivity of the mining industry is estimated to have decreased compared to the indicators of a decade ago – in part due to the increase in the intensity of the technological process (due to the constant decline in quality), and Also in connection with the growth of energy costs, consumables and labor costs. The technological processes of the mining industry should be more intensive to provide the necessary production volume at reasonable costs, which often requires larger and more expensive equipment (quarry dump trucks, mills). But in the event that this equipment is not used to the full extent due to downtime or ineffi ciency of production, the resulting production losses, a decrease in product quality and costly repairs will adversely affect the activities of the enterprise. Modern innovations, such as state monitoring, predictive analytics, pattern recognition and cognitive technologies, allow mining companies to implement a much more productive maintenance strategy that will increase profi ts from each extracted and processed ton or ounce and maximize return on investment in fixed assets.
