Evaluation of Information Security from Virus Attacks: Existing and Future Methodological Apparatus |

The article provides a mathematical model to assess the effectiveness of mechanisms to protect information from virus attacks. The author considers the content and scenario representation of the information security violator in the computer system (CS) in the conditions when malicious programs are used as a tool of violation. The scenario representation of antivirus protection mechanisms is given. Justifi es mathematical representation of the temporal characteristics of viruses and processes of protecting information from malicious programs. The results of mathematical modeling of virus attacks and anti-virus protection mechanisms are presented to assess the effectiveness of such mechanisms at typical values of the time characteristics of the simulated processes. The indicator of effi ciency of information protection mechanisms against virus attacks as a mathematical function is investigated.
