Improve the Accuracy of the DEM-modeling Results of Metallurgical Units with the Use of an Automated Installation Model for Determining Parameters of Bulk Materials |

To assess the behavior of bulk materials using software based on the method of discrete elements (DEM). The use of DEM-modeling for the design and adjustment of operating modes of the equipment industry is characterized by a number of problems associated with the complexity of determining the physical parameters of bulk media. The simulation results affect the further design of the equipment and its service life. The article presents a model of the device and a method for determining the parameters of bulk materials. Based on the CAD model using the methods of DEM-modeling, the applicability of the model of the device and methods is evaluated. The application of the installation model with respect to abstract bulk material with variable characteristics is considered. Results were analyzed using mathematical data processing methods. The conclusion is made about the adequacy of the developed method and sufficient accuracy of the data obtained regarding the parameters of dynamic friction (between particles and a particle-wall), as well as static friction between particles. In the future, it is proposed to integrate the proposed model into the complex installation, which allows the use of neural networks and automation tools to minimize the influence of the human factor on the evaluation of the parameters of bulk materials, as well as to increase the accuracy of the measurement method relative to the whole complex of parameters of bulk materials.
