Complex of Automated Control of the Density of Electric Wiring Composite Materials by Electric Power Thermography |
S.O. Kozelskaya
The actual and most diffi cult task in the control of structures made of composite materials is the localization of cracks (defects such as discontinuities of small opening (thickness), the so-called «closed» cracks), which are not visible during external inspection and open (increase the opening size) only by force. To solve this problem, a complex of automated continuity control by the method of electric power thermography has been developed, which detects «stuck» («closed») defects in complex spatial structures from electrically conductive composite materials, which has a wide range of applications, relatively simple realizability in practice, and technology of use. Experimental studies of the created complex showed that it confi dently identifies internal «closed» («stuck together») defects with a length of 1 mm at a depth of 10 mm (the parameters of detected defects are determined by the characteristics of the material being monitored, applied power load, and electric current parameters. The developed complex can be operated both in the process of testing products under production conditions, and in real conditions of their operation.
