Analysis of the Application of Distributed File Systems for Data Storage in the Field of Remote Earth Sensing |
A.V. Sivtsov, N.E. Surkova
Organizing the structure of information storage and providing rapid access to data are the most difficult issues faced by enterprises: from small private organizations to large state corporations. The volume of information structure and storage facilities, as well as access to it, largely depend on the type of activity and specifics of the organization. Remote sensing of the Earth is the observation of the Earth’s surface by ground-based, aviation and space vehicles equipped with various types of survey equipment. It is dominated by large-volume graphical information, which requires both long-term storage and operational access to process it. Long-term storage of large amounts of data and, at the same time, providing operational access to them are two completely opposite tasks that require joint solutions. The principle of operation and structure of the distributed file system allows Ceph you to build a large, fast and at the same time relatively inexpensive data storage with a high level of availability. This solution is flexible and versatile.
