Software development for the study of natural language characteristics |

The article presents the software development for the study of natural language characteristics. The information characteristics of natural languages are needed to develop methods for evaluating protected information systems. When studying cryptographic algorithms, a problem is to restore an input message or some its parts using information about possible variants of its signs. In this case, the structure of the source message is significant, for example, the number of messages that can be generated by this source. The solution of this problem includes the construction of probability-theoretic models and the study of information characteristics. In particular, for studying the possibility of restoring text message fragments, it is important to compile dictionaries of short text segments, called n-grams, and to analyze the values of the n-gram entropy. The study of such language properties is statistical and is carried out on text samples of suffi ciently large length. This article presents the results of the software development for assessing the information language characteristics. The algorithm for constructing n-gram text dictionaries and its software implementation are described, the methodology for studying their information characteristics is formulated, and experimental results of studying discrete text segments in Russian are presented.
