Construction and implementation of GRID infrastructure for satellite data processing

This paper describes general approach to implementation of Grid systems for solving the problems of satellite data processing. Current situtation in the area of Grid software is being analyzed and uncovered functional regions are found. This paper proposes methods for implementation of missing functionality namely data archive service and integration with scheduling system of computational. This paper
also notes the advantages of using the Grid system for satellite data processing: effective management of the complex flow of tasks for the processing of satellite information; the launch of an ensemble of methods for data processing with the subsequent integration of processing results into the fi nal product is distributed; processing of satellite images using parallel calculations on high-performance technology. In addition, it is indicated that the Grid system will be a new important tool that allows a large number of scientists to perform time-consuming calculations much faster and cope with complex resource-intensive tasks. In general, a Grid system is a combination of several computers to solve a single computational problem divided into subtasks. Each computer solves several subtasks, and the results of individual calculations are combined. The main advantage of the Grid system is that it can consist of computers thousands of kilometers
apart and have different characteristics (both hardware and software). The task of combining these disparate computers is performed by middleware, which (virtually) connects all computers via the Internet to a single supercomputer, which will be used to process satellite data.
