Milovzorov In this paper, the main factors and requirements for the control system of the functioning algorithm of a ferrosonde gradiometer with a variable base are considered, which make a signifi cant contribution to the qualitative and operational characteristics of the device. It is shown that the reliability of measurement results by many criteria depends on the quality of the organization of data exchange between the gradiometer and external control equipment. An appropriate frame format has been developed for correct data exchange. It has been experimentally established that measurements with all sensors switched on are made at a rate of 5 measurements per second, and in the case of a fixed base, the measurement speed is 10 measurements per second.
