Detection of Unknown Radio Signals Against
a Background of White Gaussian Noise Based
on Calculation of the Kurtess Coeffi -Cient |

The issue of detecting signals in frequency channels, which arises in the process of automated radio monitoring, is considered. A distinctive feature of this signal processing problem is the increased a priori uncertainty, which is caused by the
appearance of signals with unknown modulation and probabilistic characteristics. The results of a study of a mathematical
method for detecting unknown signals against a background of white Gaussian noise (WGN) based on calculating the kurtosis
coeffi cient (KE) are presented. The research was carried out using software simulation of statistical tests on samples of various signal models and BGNs typical for radio monitoring tasks.
