Industrial Automatic Control Systems and Controllers Annotation << Back Actualization of the Need to Increase the Level of Active Safety for Passengers of Ground Urban Transport Using Trams Kokorev B.S., Gorshkov G.S., Tikhomirova P.M. In the conditions of a modern metropolis, urban rail transportation – streetcar, is an important element of urban infrastructure, providing mobility for millions of passengers. Ensuring the safety of streetcar passengers is an urgent problem in light of the dynamically changing traffi c fl ow and information oversaturation of road users in the area of streetcar stops. Current research shows that high levels of hyperinformatization and excessive traffi c signs negatively affect the attention of drivers and passengers, leading to an increase in accidents and injuries. The study focuses on the analysis of statistical data on streetcar passenger injuries in Russian cities for 2015, 2020, 2023 and 2024, collected through appeals to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for 50 cities with active streetcar systems. The results show an increase in the number of accidents and injuries among passengers, which emphasizes the need to develop and implement an intelligent transportation system to improve safety and awareness of road users. The aim of the study is to actualize the problem of lack of awareness among vehicle drivers and the need to improve safety conditions when boarding and disembarking streetcar passengers. Objectives include collecting and analyzing accident statistics, identifying patterns in the data and proposing measures to improve safety in the area of streetcar stop boarding and alighting.
