Industrial Automatic Control Systems and Controllers Annotation << Back Technology and Principles of Application of an Active Complex for Ensuring Safety of Tram Passengers using Machine Vision Technologies and Adaptive Laser Illumination in the Stop Area Kokorev B.S., Gorshkov G.S., Tikhomirova P.M. This research article examines the main problems faced by passengers of surface urban public rail transportation in the form of tramway when carrying out the boarding-disembarkation process in open-air stops. The problems faced by drivers of wheeled vehicles in boarding-disembarkation of streetcar stops with access to the roadway are considered. The analysis of the main aspects of occurrence and types of hazards, accidents and related injuries on the urban passenger rail ground transportation – streetcar is carried out. The statistics of road accidents arising due to these factors is given. Problems of information support of drivers of personal vehicles and streetcar passengers are considered. The existing methods and technologies for streetcar passenger safety have been analyzed. Based on the described safety problems and methods of their solution, the analysis of tasks that can be solved through the development of an intelligent transportation system (ITS) was carried out. The list of equipment necessary for the ITS development is selected, the electronic scheme of the LED traffi c light that meets the requirements of application as a part of the intelligent transportation system is designed, the block diagram (notation) of safety provision by means of external informing of the system operation is created, the concept of software and information system development is described. The concept of intelligent transportation system is developed to emphasize and improve safety measures in the interaction between passengers, pedestrians, land wheeled vehicles, personal vehicles, urban passenger land rail vehicles, and other wheeled vehicles.
