Method of assessing the functional performance of an infocommunication system under conditions of destructive impacts of cyber-attacks

The functioning of infocommunication systems under the conditions of destructive impacts of cyber attacks imposes strict
restrictions on the time of making management decisions on the state of operability of such systems. In connection with the
need to solve this problem, the article proposes a new method for assessing the functional operability of an infocommunication
system based on the use of the theory of differential calculus. This method, in contrast to the classical method for assessing
the reliability and existing mathematical models for assessing the operability of infocommunication systems, differs in that the
task of assessing the functional operability of a system under conflict conditions is reduced to fi nding differentiable functions
describing the operability of the system. At the same time, it is taken into account that destructive impacts disrupt the structure
of the system, strengthening negative connections and weakening positive connections between its components, blocking the
operation of the most important components, thereby depriving other components of resource support. The idea of assessing
the risk of disruption of the functional operability of an infocommunication system exposed to destructive impacts is that
the concept of risk is associated with the concept of the process of maintaining the functional operability of the system. The
method proposed in this article allows to reduce the time of decision-making on the operability of an infocommunication
system based on the presence of a number of features and does not require simulation modeling of the entire process of
functioning of the infocommunication system under conditions of destructive infl uences.
