Development of an intelligent information system
for automation of vacancy selection for a given resume |

In the process of searching for a new job, marine specialists, like many workers, face routine work on the network, reviewing and
analyzing a huge number of pages on platforms that post vacancies. The purpose of this work is to develop a tool for automating the process
of selecting vacancies for a given resume based on the KNIME analytical platform. The Manhattan method is chosen as the main method
for comparing text information. The Manhattan distance measures the sum of the absolute differences between the coordinates of two
vectors; in this work, the vectors of text documents of vacancies and the user's resume are compared by the difference of each term and the
subsequent sum of the obtained values. As a result, the developed intelligent information system for automatic selection of vacancies for a
given resume significantly optimizes the job search, which is proven by the tests conducted. A distinctive feature of the developed workflow
of the intelligent information system on the KNIME platform is its universality for any resume specified by the user and the corresponding
vacancies. The advantage is that the platform for this KNIME workflow is free, has an open source code, many user manuals and detailed
documentation.
