A new Software and Hardware Approach
to Detecting Plagiarism in Student Papers –
as an Important Link in the Information
Security of the Results of Intellectual Work |

This article examines the problem of student plagiarism, describes the problems in combating student plagiarism, studies
existing approaches to combating student plagiarism, and reviews existing software and hardware methods and tools for
detecting and combating plagiarism.
The purpose of writing this research paper: to develop a software and hardware approach to detecting plagiarism in
student laboratory work.
Conclusions obtained during the study: There are no ideal and universal detection systems, which is due to the wide
variety of structures of the analyzed texts. Each type of text requires its own separate system that takes into account its
features. The concept of a new method that we propose allows us to detect plagiarism using indicators that are “on the
surface” and do not require too complex algorithms for their implementation. In general, a combination (complex solutions)
of existing approaches and methods our methodology will allow us to create tools whose effectiveness will approach 100 %.
