The Problems and Architecture of the Automation
Scheme for the Logistics of a Metalworking Shop
using the Industrial Internet of Things and a Robotic Platform |
Kashitsyn S.D., Rylov S.A.
The paper discusses automation issues in intra-shop logistics of a metalworking workshop, where machining time is accompanied by
long inter-operation waiting, manual material handling and insufficient integration of production information systems. The case study uses
workshop section of JSC RPC Istok named after Shokin and the process route for several parts under route sheet. According to production
documentation for the period from 28 October 2026 to 8 January 2026, 14 out of 16 launched parts were accepted and 2 parts were rejected.
The unit machining time is 3.64 hours, the batch time is 218.5 hours, while the share of machine time is only 1.628 hours, or 44.7 %.
An architectural scheme for workshop logistics automation in a metalworking environment is presented, designed for future application
with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies and a robotic transport platform.
