In this article, general problems of Engineering-to-Order complex technical product are considered on the basis of actual research papers on the management of design and production processes in the Engineering-to-Order structural organization conditions. Existing models of the custom engineering operational planning and management are also considered. The article provides an assessment of computer-aided design, product data management and product lifecycle management systems applicability in the conditions of the Engineering-to-Order. Based on the results of the analysis, the information support problems of the Engineering-to-Order organizational structure are formulated. In conclusion, there are proposed the main directions for the development of knowledge-based product data management systems designed to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the Engineering-to-Order.
