Fuzzy Logic Algorithms for Detecting
Object Edges in the Task of Automation

Two fuzzy logic methods for detecting object edges based on determining the gradient direction angles and triggering fuzzy rules
depending on its value in the fi rst case and on sixteen fuzzy rules that form the dependence of the deviation of the gradient difference of
the central pixel relative to neighboring ones in a 3x3 window in the second case are presented in the article. The object of the study was
computational processes in fuzzy algorithms for detecting objects at pedestrian crossings in Kursk. A comparative analysis of fuzzy logic
methods with traditional Sobel, Laplacian, Pruitt, Roberts and Canny models used to detect edges is presented. The accuracy of calculating
the recognition of object edges was estimated based on the FoM coeffi cient.
